The Coffee Route
This program mixes nature’s beauty with cultural experiences. We’ll have the chance to visit the house where the great poet Ruben Dario was born. The house has been turned into a museum with some personal objects. The journey continues to the town of Esteli known for its nice weather, its tobacco fields and its natural reserves.
In Nueva Segovia we’ll visit Finca San Isidro, a coffee farm surrounded by pine trees in the highest area of Nicaragua. Finally, we’ll reach the town of Matagalpa where we’ll enjoy a tour to the Organic Coffee Plantation and lodge in the famous mountain hotel Selva Negra.
Itinerary
Day 01: Managua – Estelí
Departure to Esteli. In the route we will visit the Ruben Dario Museum. Our trip continues to the Estanzuela waterfall.
Day 02: Estelí – Ocotal
Departure to Ocotal located in Nueva Segovia. We’ll visit San Isidro Coffee Farm where you’ll have an excellent view of the mountains. On our way back to Ocotal we will visit the indigenous town of Monzonte known for its beautiful handicrafts.
Day 03: Ocotal – Somoto’s Canyon - Matagalpa
After breakfast we depart to Matagalpa, one of the most important cities of Nicaragua’s Northern Region. We will stay in Selva Negra, located in a coffee farm where we will learn about the history of the European immigrants of the 19 century and coffee production.
Day 04: Matagalpa – Managua
In the morning we’ll do a Coffee Tour in Hamonia Farm. In the afternoon we’ll departure to Managua. End our services.
