Solentiname
Solentiname archipelago is formed by 36 beautiful islands located on the southeast corner of Lake Cocibolca at the starting point of San Juan River. The islands green vegetations with vibrant bright colors create an unique view. These islands have been a great inspiration for local artists that started the painting primitivist movement.
On this tour we’ll also visit Los Guatuzos Wildlife Refuge where you’ll find exotic birds, alligators and monkeys. This area is one of the most important wetlands of the country because of its size and well preserved state.
Itinerary
Day 01: Managua – San Carlos – Solentiname
Air transfer from Managua to San Carlos. From here we’ll take a private boat to Solentiname. Cultural tour around the islands.
Day 02: Solentiname – Los Guatuzos – Solentiname
Visit to Los Guatuzos Wildlife Refuge where you’ll have the chance to observe exotic bird, alligators and monkeys. This area is one of the biggest and well conserved wetlands if Central America.
Day 03: Solentiname – Managua’s Airport
Transfer from Solentiname to San Carlos where we’ll take the flight back to Managua.
