Nicaraguans History & Traditions
This tour begins at Peñas Blancas Border. On our way to Granada on the Panamerican Highway you will have the opportunity to appreciate the great Lake of Nicaragua and the magical island of Ometepe with its volcanoes, Concepción and Maderas.
On the first part of our tour we will visit the Colonial City of Granada, built in 1524 on the shores of Lake Cocibolca. The city preserves its colonial architecture and its a great staring point to visit other attractives like Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve, Granada’s Islets and the artisanal towns of San Juan de Oriente and Catarina. Afterwards, we will visit Masaya's Handcrafts Market and Masaya Volcano National Park.
Then we'll go to Managua and to the colonial city of Leon. Before arriving to Leon we will enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Xolotlan and Momotombo volcano, near are the “Ruins of Old Leon,” recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO.
Itinerary
Day 01: Peñas Blancas – Granada
Greeting at your arrival at the Peñas Blancas Border. Departure to Granada, on the way we will visit Catarina. When we arrive to the Colonial City of Granada, we will do a city tour.
Day 02: Granada – Masaya – Managua
To begin the day we will do a boat trip in Granada’s Islets. Later we will visit Masaya Volcano National Park. Then we'll go to Masaya’s Handicraft Market. Departure to Managua.
Day 03: Managua – León
Managua City Tour, visiting the main places of the city. Departure to León. On the route we will visit the ruins of Leon Viejo. When we arrive to León we will do a City Tour visiting the Metropolitan Cathedral, Ortiz Gurdián Foundation and Ruben Dario Museum.
Day 04: León – Managua
Visit to the San Jacinto hot springs, later we’ll visit Las Peñitas Beach. Departure to Managua.
Day 05: Managua – Airport
According your departure time, transfer to the airport. End of our services.
